Willi Idea 2016 competition 130 participants - finalists chosen

Willi Idea –competition attracted a record number of ideas in South Karelia. A total of 130 ideas entered the competition during the period from September 5 to October 9, 2016. Five ideas advanced to the final 16.11., where the winner will be awarded development funds of EUR 10 000.

Finalists for Willi Idea -competition have been chosen

Time to send entries for Willi Idea –competition ended last sunday. The competition received altogether 106 entries from students, entrepreneurs, researchers and private individuals. Due to the success of the competition and the large amount of entries the pre-evaluation jury decided to choose six entries to the finals. More information about the finalists will be published on monday 26th of October.

Competition participants have already been sent e-mail about the chosen finalists.


From ideas to business - do You wish to win 10 000 euros development money to Your idea?

Willi Idea – competition looks for new potential business ideas which are implementable in South Karelia. Entrepreneurs, students and entrepreneur-minded individuals are wished welcome to produce new ideas to the competition.  Competition is on for the next five weeks from 11th of September 2015  to 18th of October 2015.


Moowus application – winner of the Willi-idea business competition

The winner of the Willi-idea (‘Wild Idea’) competition was declared in Lappeenranta in an event arranged on 27 November 2014. The Moowus application – which offers challenges in the form of physical exercise to users – climbed to victory. A total of 39 Southern Karelian business ideas were entered in the competition.


Finalsists of the Willi idea competition chosen

Registration for the Wild Idea competition ended last Friday. The business plan competition attracted a great deal of interest in South Karelia. We received 39 entries by the deadline, five of which were selected as finalists.

The ideas chosen for the final include three mobile applications, an innovation related to education and a business idea for the environmental sector. Ideas were received from students, scientists and established companies alike.


The opening ceremony of the StartupMill premises was held on 27 August 2014

New communal, open work premises for new entrepreneurs and those interested in entrepreneurship have been opened in Skinnarila in Lappeenranta. The premises feature an entrepreneurially minded atmosphere where people can network, share experiences and learn.

The premises house not only entrepreneurs but also Wirma’s business developers Lauri and Mikko, who assist and coach the entrepreneurs on the StartupMill premises.
